Project Manager - MayTec Solutions
Overview
The Project Manager in our MayTec Solutions division is responsible for delivering small to medium-sized, quick-turnaround projects from receipt of Purchase Order (PO) through to delivery/installation. These projects typically involve bespoke frames, workstations, guarding, trolleys, and modular solutions built from our MayTec aluminium extrusion system.
Purpose of the Role
Roles & Responsibilities
- Review customer PO, confirmed scope, and all handover documents from the Sales Office Manager.
- Validate drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Establish short-duration project timelines and delivery dates.
- Create and populate Bills of Materials (BOMs) using MayTec profiles, connectors, panels, and accessories.
- Generate full build packs, including: Cutting List and Assembly Drawings etc
- Raise purchase orders for aluminium profiles, accessories, hardware, panels, fixings, and subcontract services.
- Track lead times and ensure all materials arrive in line with project schedules.
- Liaise with suppliers to resolve shortages, substitutions, or urgent requirements.
- Manage costs and ensure purchasing aligns with agreed project margins.
- Provide the assembly/workshop team with complete build packs and clear instructions.
- Schedule workshop activity, considering workload, availability, and delivery commitments.
- Respond quickly to workshop queries or design clarifications.
- Coordinate with design/CAD support where additional drawings or edits are required.
- Serve as the customer’s main point of contact during production.
- Provide progress updates, confirm delivery details, and manage minor scope adjustments.
- Work with the Sales Office Manager to handle additional costs or changes to scope.
- Ensure all assemblies meet functional requirements and design intent.
- Prepare RAMS or installation documents where applicable.
- Arrange delivery, logistics, and installation support as needed.
Requirements
- Experience managing multiple small projects or orders in a technical or manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with aluminium extrusion systems (MayTec, Bosch Rexroth, Item, etc.).
- Background in ergonomic workstations, machine guarding, or modular systems.
- CAD familiarity (2D or 3D).
- APM, PRINCE2, or other project management qualifications.
- Experience working in a factory environment
Desirable
- Strong understanding of mechanical assembly and ability to interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience creating BOMs, cutting lists, or build documentation.
- Competence in procurement tasks: raising POs, tracking deliveries, communicating with suppliers.
- Highly organised and able to manage short deadlines and parallel workloads.
- Confident communication skills with both customers and workshop teams.
